Biography

     Dr. Surya N. Mundluru is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). His training experience has given him a unique perspective related to pediatric care and has presented on various topics at national meetings.

     He started in the Department of Internal Medicine and Department of Pediatrics at the prestigious Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He developed a love for pediatric orthopedic treatment and care, and went on to pursue further training at NYU Langone Hospital for Joint Diseases in orthopedic surgery. He completed a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery and scoliosis at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Dallas, TX.

     Dr. Mundluru is a Texas native, originally from Fort Worth, Texas.  He completed under graduation and medical school at the University of Missouri Kansas City accelerated 6 year BA/ MD program. While in his 2 years of under graduation, Dr. Mundluru represented the University of Missouri KC in Tennis in the NCAA Division I MidContinent Conference.  Dr. Mundluru also has a passion for yoga and its potential benefits for musculoskeletal disease and adolescent back pain.  He is also an avid cyclist partaking in many endurance century rides over the years.  

     Dr. Mundluru is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America.
